We are the founders of T&E Ladder, and welcome to our website.
Our Story
Khushi Malde, born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and studying data science, came to the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. In 2020 Khushi met Megan Cistulli, a Berkeley student studying law and political science. Searching for a roommate on Facebook, Megan saw a post from Khushi, which expressed Khushi's interest in equity in education and bridging a gap she felt when coming to the United States. Equally important, the Facebook post expressed Khushi's interest in closing the opportunity gap for students. Having a strong passion for equity in education and policy reform to support students in higher education, Megan reached out to meet Khushi via Zoom.

A zoom meeting scheduled for thirty minutes turned into a two-hour conversation. Khushi told Megan her first-hand story about the gap she felt in the classroom. Megan shared with Khushi the work she had done with students in the past and her goals to reform policy to support students in the classroom. Khushi, with her first-hand experiences and coming from a data science background, and Megan, coming from an education policy and legal background, put their heads together. After a few more Zoom strategy sessions, they pulled their contacts together, built a fully functioning global team, came up with the T&E ladder name, and launched their first official speaker series.

Meet the Team
A collective of passionate individuals dedicated to fostering an enriching and supportive learning environment. Comprising diverse backgrounds and expertise, our team is committed to cultivating a comprehensive educational experience that empowers students to thrive academically and personally.
Bhavita Malde
Bhavita graduated from Strathmore University Nairobi in 2022 with a Bachelor of Business Science in Financial Economics degree. She is currently working in the hospitality industry as a senior accountant.
Roshan Reddy
Roshan is currently a high school senior at Rosslyn Academy, ready to study Statistics and Finance in the US in the fall of 2024. With a passion for numbers and finance, Roshan looks forward to exploring these fields further in his upcoming academic journey.

Riya Chhabra
Riya is currently a first year student at the University of California, San Diego. She is studying Biochemistry with a minor in Global Health, and hopes to apply to medical school in the future.
Kirsten Huh
Kirsten graduated from Northwestern University in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, double minors in Legal Studies and Psychology, and the Integrated Marketing Communications Certificate. She is an incoming 1L at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

We are a non-profit organization aimed towards providing high school students in Kenya, with a platform and resources through which they can create breakthrough solutions using the power of tech and entrepreneurship, such as technological skills that will enable them to formulate breakthrough solutions with global purposes allowing them to bridge the opportunity gap.
